Formal Photos ::: First Look

This first look was taken in what Peter and I like the call, The Mental Orchards.

Peter bought his suit years ago with the intent to wear it at his wedding. I stayed up till 3am the night before these photos slimmifying the pants. That was a poor decision for my eye bags but an appealing decision for his adorable chicken legs and cute butt. We decided on black shoes and tie for him because it was more formal and my get up was formal to match.
My extremely talented and angel of a mother made my dress and veil. The gorgeous cathedral length veil was inspired by my lovely primary co-instructor in the Clapham ward back during my four months in London, Emily. Yep. I facebook stalked her good and happened upon my wedding destiny amidst her unsuspecting tagged photos. Since the veil was my focal point, I wanted the dress to be very simple. A year before my wedding I would have imagined my dress as something completely different, especially the shape, but it turned out beautifully and I would not change a thing. On Pinterest I found a headpiece by Danani Handmade and was smitten. It being completely out of my budget so I skipped over to some local antique stores, Cat's Cradle & Planted Earth, and found some pieces to recreate it. I love how it turned out and thought it was a great touch of gold to the ensemble.
Oh. And 5" heels, suckas.

Engagement photos

I apologize because you are going to be swimming in wedding related posts for the next while.
Strap on those arm floaties!

Our engagement photos were taken at Tibble Fork Reservoir and we thought that location was very "us". Mountains galore, people fishing around us, and trudging up and down hills in high heels. It was perfect! Our photographer was KyleeAnn Photography with Rachel taking the photos. Huge shoutout because with the awful direct sunlight, she did a marvelous job. We love the photos.

His: shoes: Sperry Top-siders | pants: Gap | shirt: thrifted
Hers: shoes: Nordstrom Rack | pants: Target | shirt: H&M | earrings: gift (similar at Walmart)

Just before these photos of us laughing were taken our
photographer, Rachel, asked Peter to pick me up and spin me around.
He was spinning.
We were kissing.
I was getting over a cold.
And in that unfortunate combination, I laughed through my nose and
snorted a bunch of snot right onto his innocent and undeserving face. That
good sport just laughed it off, whilst we were both disgusted.

Hers: dress: H&M | necklace: gift

his: shoes: Carnival Shoes | pants: roommate's closet (couldn't find his own)
| belt: H&M | shirt: knowing him, thrifted (confirmed)
hers: shoes: Target (2010) | dress: roommate's closet

Welcome post

We are officially the Fife Family of Orem, Utah and boy does it feel good. As of right now, we got married fifteen days ago. We finally understand what the married club people are always going on about because this thing we call marriage is better than country fried chicken and mashed potatoes on a Sunday evening in the Autumn. We feel very blessed to have met each other and have the lives we do. We love each other, our families, our religion, the cute little house we are working to put together, and watching Downton Abbey.

The majority of this blog will be announcing the weekly youtube videos we will be (trying to be consistent at) putting up. I'm quite behind so we are playing a bit of catch up for the next few weeks. Thank you for joining us on our journey!
